Do you feel sad when your recordings aren’t that good? You should because your no good and you should give up. Nah i’m Just kidding. Don’t worry about it. Use it as a lesson and figure out where you went wrong. You will probably do some more pretty average recordings in the future, but that’s normal. Im sure most fancy pants famous engineers did some pretty crap stuff in their early days. Keep at it, each time you will slightly improve even if you don’t realize it. I doubt you will get worse.
Don’t expect that you should know everything. You can’t. Just get your mics out, plug them in and learn as much as you can along the way. Don’t worry too much about your gear. Even cheap stuff can get you good results if you use it right. You are much more important than what your using. If we gave a pro engineer some entry level gear I’m sure they could churn out some pro sounding music.
So there ya go, some philosophical baloney to munch on. If you don’t like it then good.
